2019 Release: Fordham’s Pope Francis Global Poverty Index

Henry Schwalbenberg, Ph.D., director of Fordham’s IPED program, will highlight key points of the 2019 report on Fordham’s Pope Francis Global Poverty Index, a multi-dimensional poverty index that monitors recent global trends in food, water, housing, employment, education, gender equity, and religious freedom.
Following the public release of the 2019 report, Professor Andrew Simons from Fordham’s economics department will speak on “Climate Change and the Potential Risk of Multiple Bread-Basket Failures.”
The event is co-sponsored by CARITAS Internationalis and Fordham University’s graduate program in international political economy and development.
