From the Office of the Vice President for Administration:
Dear Members of the Campus Community:
Here are this week’s five things you need to know about Fordham’s COVID-19 precautions, vaccinations, and University operations (You can read the State of New York’s most recent COVID-19 guidelines on its Novel Coronavirus page):
- In the last 14 days, 1 member of the University community tested positive for COVID-19, a positivity rate of 1.54% of 65 tests administered, as listed on the University dashboard.
- Members of the University community should respond to the daily VitalCheck prompt at least 30 minutes prior to entering campus; doing so ensures quick and seamless access for students, faculty, and staff.
- Unvaccinated students, faculty, and staff, will not be able to enter campus, nor reside in on-campus housing, after September 1, 2021, unless they have received a formal accommodation or vaccine exemption from the University.
- The University will perform rapid tests on individuals who have COVID-19 symptoms or who were exposed to someone who is ill with the virus. Symptomatic individuals who have a negative result on a rapid test will be given a PCR test to confirm whether they have a COVID-19 infection. The University has discontinued PCR tests for community surveillance.
- Bloomberg News has reported that COVID-19 continues to kill more Americans than guns, cars, and influenza combined: “The U.S. remains a dangerous place for the unvaccinated.”
