What do you do at Fordham?
I’m senior associate director of the Career Center at Rose Hill. I wear many hats in my role and have grown into a variety of responsibilities over time (eight years in November). I oversee several areas within the Career Center, including marketing and communications, student engagement at Rose Hill, technology, strategic initiatives, and first-destination outcomes—helping students prepare for life after Fordham. I also coordinate strategic initiatives like the Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP), the Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP), and veterans partnerships; organize career fairs; and work to engage faculty by providing them with career-related data and resources.
At the heart of it, I see myself as a student success connector—helping students understand how to create and seize career opportunities. I also ensure our operations run smoothly and that every student who walks through our doors has a positive experience.
Tell me a little about your background.
I’m originally from the Bronx but I spent summers in South Carolina with my family. I went to SUNY Westbury in Long Island for undergrad and got my master’s at St. John’s University in Queens. I am currently pursuing my Ed.D. at Fordham.
What’s a fun fact about you that most colleagues don’t know?
I’ve had quite a few career pivots! Before higher ed, I worked in retail, as a dental assistant, at the NYC Board of Elections, and even in real estate. I think all these experiences across different industries make me a better career counselor—I understand firsthand what it’s like to explore different paths and find the right fit.
What work are you most proud of doing in your time at Fordham?
I’m proud of so much, but especially of building connections through our career exploration courses for Fordham College students. They took several years to launch, starting with just one pilot class of 25 students. Today, we’ve expanded to over 200 students across more than four classes on both campuses. These courses help students develop career readiness, from applying to jobs and internships to exploring how their degrees translate into career options.
If you could describe Fordham in one word, what would it be?
Inspiring. The people here truly inspire students to become better and grow—not just academically, but as people. We embody the Jesuit mission and values, encouraging students to take what they’ve learned and use it to make the world better. It’s about becoming servant leaders and living up to everything Fordham stands for.
What is your motto?
My motto is to live for today. Carpe diem. I believe it’s so important to be present and seize the moment, because things don’t always go as planned. Tomorrow will come with its own opportunities—focus on today and make the most of it.
