Enhancing Your Influence: Teaching Tips for Clinical Social Workers

Whether facilitating a family meeting, conducting an advance care planning conversation, or providing discharge planning, health social workers are involved as educators in almost every aspect of their practice, yet few have had explicit training to maximize their effectiveness in this role. This interactive webinar will cover principles of adult education (andragogy) and explore strategies to enhance your influence and impact, whether in formal educational roles (giving grand rounds, guest speaking, presenting at conferences), as supervisors, mentors or sponsors (giving feedback and coaching support), or as organizational and community experts (providing advocacy regarding the impact of policies, etc.). We’ll discuss strategies to expand your influence and provide resources to further your confidence and competence in this important skill.
