Fordham mourns the passing of Amy Herrion Shaw, a registered nurse in University Health Services, who died on Jan. 27. She was 53.
A 1994 Fordham graduate, Shaw attended NYU School of Nursing, according to the family obit. She worked first at NYU Langone and then at Rose Hill, where she dedicated her time to caring for students at their home away from home.
Beloved by students and her family, Shaw was a devoted wife and mother and a dedicated volunteer. She was a valued PTA member and raised money for the American Cancer Society through Relay for Life. She loved to run, spend time outdoors, and travel to new places with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Andrew; her children, Jack and Caroline; her brother, John; her mother, Carole; and countless friends and family who loved her. Visitation will be on Jan. 30 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Fred H McGrath & Son funeral home in Tuckahoe, New York. Services will be held at Immaculate Conception Church, also in Tuckahoe, at 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 31. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society.
