Fordham Westchester: “This recently renovated facility is a winner!”

Fordham University’s recently opened Westchester campus has received two awards from the Westchester County chapter of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA).

The awards include the Hall of Honor Award and the Office Building of the Year Award (TOBY), for its campus at 400 Westchester Ave. in West Harrison, N.Y.

The awards were accepted on April 30 by Brian Byrne, Ph.D., vice president of administration for Fordham’s Lincoln Center campus at the BOMA Awards Dinner.

The Hall of Honor award recognizes Fordham’s support and encouragement of the economic growth of Westchester. The TOBY award, which Fordham Westchester shared with GHP Office Realty and Benerofe Properties, recognizes excellence in building management, operational efficiency, emergency planning and community impact.

Opened in September 2008, Fordham Westchester is a three-story, 62,500-square-foot building set on 32 landscaped acres. The campus is home to adult undergraduate programs, as well as master’s degree programs in business administration, education, religion and religious education, and social service.

Judges in the competition praised Fordham Westchester for its “new, fresh campus/building and its state of the art technology,” and wrote that “This recently renovated facility is a winner!”

“It has been a wonderful first year for our students, faculty and staff at our new campus,” said Ron Jacobson, Ph.D., executive director of academic programs at Fordham Westchester. “This award further recognizes Fordham’s continuing contributions to higher education and quality of life in Westchester, Rockland, Putnam and Fairfield counties.”
