Andrew Albin, PhD, ARTS AND SCIENCES, associate professor of English and director of graduate studies in the English department, took part in a panel discussion titled “Chaucerian Attention Economies” at the international Modern Language Association (MLA) annual convention, held from Jan. 8 to 11 in Toronto. Also at the MLA conference, Maria Farland, PhD, ARTS AND SCIENCES, associate professor of English and director of placement and professional development in the English department’s graduate program, delivered a talk titled “Face, Head, Brain: Reading, Writing, and Embodied Form.” And Corey McEleney, PhD, ARTS AND SCIENCES, associate professor of English, participated in a panel discussion titled “Rethinking the Humanities: Engaging the Past, Rethinking the Present.”

Stephen Holler, PhD, ARTS AND SCIENCES, professor of physics, presented a poster at the American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT) Winter Meeting, held from Jan. 17 to 19 in Las Vegas. Titled “FRESH Air: Beyond Particulate Matter,” it highlighted mobile methane measurements he performed around the Bronx and identified sources of elevated levels that could adversely affect those communities.
