Holly Curtis, OFFICE OF THE PROVOST, assistant provost for corporate relations, presented a talk titled “Collaborating for a Better World, from Ideas to Scaled Impact” at the University-Industry Innovation Network (UIIN) 2026 Conference in Stockholm, held June 15 to 17. She shared how Fordham and Santander US are building a strategic partnership that spans thought leadership, student internships, study abroad in Spain, and entrepreneurship at the Bronx Green Jobs Center.
Stephen Grimm, PhD, ARTS AND SCIENCES, professor of philosophy, was named the new Robert Southwell, SJ, Distinguished Professor in Philosophy and the Humanities, effective Sept. 1. This June, he also began his post as the Dooyeweerd Chair at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, where he will teach every June for the next several years.
Grimm is among the world’s leading scholars of epistemology, the theory of knowledge. His work on understanding, wisdom, and philosophy as a way of life has helped set the agenda for the field, drawing more than $5 million in external grants. He is also the director of the University’s Ignatian AI Initiative, which will bring together scholars from around the world this October to explore how Ignatian values can guide the use and development of AI.
Natalia Imperatori-Lee, PhD, ARTS AND SCIENCES, associate professor of theology, received the Virgilio Elizondo Award for Outstanding Achievement in Theology from the Academy of Catholic Hispanic Theologians of the United States (ACHTUS) on July 17. The award is ACHTUS’s highest honor and was conferred at the organization’s annual meeting at Santa Clara University. It recognizes distinguished achievement in theology in keeping with the academy’s mission.
