Anita Batisti, Ph.D., GRADUATE SCHOOL OF EDUCATION, associate dean and director of the Center for Educational Partnerships, and Diane Howitt, executive director of the Center for Educational Partnerships, received an $11.35 million grant from the New York State Education Department (NYSED). The grant will fund the next five years of work by the New York City Regional Bilingual Education Resource Network (RBERN), which is housed within the center.

Desmond Lyons, GABELLI SCHOOL OF BUSINESS, adjunct professor of law and ethics, was elected justice of the New York State Supreme Court on Nov. 4. He will serve in the 9th Judicial District, which covers Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, Dutchess, and Orange counties.

Robert J. Parmach, Ph.D., MISSION INTEGRATION AND MINISTRY, senior director of Ignatian mission and education, presented the workshop “Visual Values: Our Shared Ignatian Mission” at Fairfield University on Sept. 13 as part of their Ignatian leadership college annual retreat.

He also delivered the talk “Head, Heart, Hands: Animating Your Institution’s Mission” at the Religious and Independent School Educator (RISE) Annual Conference on Nov. 13 in Albany, overseen by the Graduate School of Education’s Professional Development Resource Center.
