NEW YORK: Adbusters, Luba Lukova and the Guerrilla Girls are just a few of the artists and activist groups featured in an exhibition titled “What’s Your Problem? Graphic Design with Conscience” fromDec. 12 through Feb. 1 in the Center Gallery on the Lincoln Center campus of Fordham University. The exhibition is free and open to the public. Many of the pieces employ statistics, parody and potent visual metaphors to express an uncompromisingly critical perspective on a wide range of sociopolitical issues.

For example, in Lukova’s Peace, originally conceived as an illustration for The New York Times, images of missiles, tanks and soldiers are arranged in the shape of a dove. Curated by Associate Professor Abby Goldstein, artist-in-residence, and the students in her graphic design seminar, the exhibition covers issues relating to military violence, health, race, gender and the global economy. DATE: DEC. 12 THROUGH FEB. 1 (CLOSED DEC. 23 THROUGH JAN. 1) TIME: MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY, 9 A.M. TO 9 P.M. PLACE: CENTER GALLERY, LEON LOWENSTEIN BUILDING 113 W. 60TH ST. NEW YORK, N.Y.
