NEW YORK—Bronx Borough President Adolfo Carrion will declare March 4, 2005, “Morissania Appreciation Day” during his opening remarks at the Fordham University Bronx African-American History Project benefit concert on Friday, March 4, at 7 p.m. in the McGinely Center Ballroom on the Bronx campus.
The concert, which will celebrate Bronx music history, will feature a jazz performance by the Jimmy Owens Quartet and a tribute to the late singer, songwriter and community activist Arthur Crier Jr. A dance party hosted by Pete DJ Jones will follow.
Tickets are $20, $5 for Fordham students with school ID. Limited seating is available.

The Bronx African-American History Project was created to document the history of people of African descent in the Bronx. The project is a collaborative effort of the Bronx County Historical Society and Fordham’s Department of African and African American Studies.
