Broadway’s smash-hit comedy Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike is the Tony Award-winning Best Play of the year and Fordham alumnus John Johnson, FCLC ’02, is one of the feted producers!
Tony and Emmy Award winner David Hyde Pierce and Tony nominee Kristine Nielsen star alongside Fordham alumna and Tony winner Julie White, PCS ’09, in this irresistible new comedy the New York Times calls “Deliriously funny! Comic acting raised to the level of high art!”
Vanya (Pierce) and his sister Sonia (Nielsen) live a quiet life in the farmhouse where they grew up. But their sister Masha (White) escaped many years ago and became a famous movie star! When Masha returns unannounced with her 20-something boy toy, Spike (Billy Magnussen), so begins an unforgettable weekend of rivalry, regret, and generally hilarious racket. By the end of their impromptu family reunion, this lovable bunch won’t ever be the same!
Tony nominee Nicholas Martin directs an explosively funny cast in Christopher Durang’s laugh-out-loud new comedy, winner of the Tony Award for Best Play!
