The warm weather has arrived, and June is packed with can’t-miss events across NYC! Whether you’re up for cotton candy and hanging out with mermaids on the Coney Island boardwalk, live music under the stars, or tacos at Smorgasburg, there’s something for everyone. From parades to performances to powerful celebrations, these five picks will kick off your summer in the best way.

1. Bryant Park Picnic Performances

It’s officially that time of year again! Nothing screams summer in the city more than live music in Bryant Park. Grab a blanket, gather your friends, and make a night of it.

2.  Smorgasburg

It’s every foodie’s dream: all of the best food vendors in NYC together in one spot. From birria tacos and mozzarella sticks to pastries and coffees, there’s something for every craving. Come hungry!

3. Juneteenth Celebration

Join the Van Cortlandt Park Alliance and Bronx Arts Ensemble and celebrate Juneteenth with food, music, and a powerful tribute at Van Cortlandt Park.

4. The Mermaid Parade, Coney Island 

School’s out, and it’s officially time for cotton candy, carnival rides—and, yes, dressing up like a mermaid. Catch the parade, then stick around for rides, treats, and plenty of summer fun in the amusement park.

5. NYC Pride March

June is Pride Month, and New York City is home to one of the world’s largest demonstrations for LGBTQIA+ rights. It’s an event you should definitely check out, full of energy, love, and celebration.

Sunday, June 29, 11 a.m.; starts at 26th Street and 5th Avenue and disperses at 15th Street and 7th Avenue, Manhattan
