What better way to get excited for the big day than seeing the city light up in your honor the night before commencement? Starting at dusk on May 16, the lights of the Empire State Building will shine bright in Fordham maroon for the Class of 2025.

Whether you’re celebrating from Manhattan, Brooklyn, Jersey, or even your couch, there are lots of places where you can catch the Empire State Building lighting up for our grads.

Here are our favorite spots for the best views and even better photo ops:

Bryant Park, Manhattan 

In Midtown the night before commencement? Head toward Bryant Park for an amazing view of the Empire State Building glowing maroon in honor of Fordham’s graduates.

Madison Square Park, Manhattan

The city views available at this downtown park make it perfect for snapping unforgettable graduation pics with the Empire State Building in the background!

West 34th Street, Manhattan

Get ready for one of the best close-up street views of the Empire State Building. Don’t miss the chance to snap a pic. Our favorite spot is the middle of the crosswalk located midblock between Seventh and Eighth avenues. 

Rooftop Bars and Restaurants in Times Square Neighborhood

The Times Square area has no shortage of cute rooftop spots, perfect for catching the Empire State Building glowing maroon. It’s a great way to toast the grads with the perfect city backdrop.

The High Line, Manhattan

This elevated public park gives you some of the best views of the Empire State Building!

Union Square, Manhattan

Enjoy the festive energy of Union Square while catching a view of the famous skyscraper!

Washington Street Between Front and Water Streets, Dumbo, Brooklyn 

There really is nothing like this picturesque sight of the Empire State Building beautifully framed by the Manhattan Bridge. Head over for a unique graduation picture with the iconic landmark.

Liberty State Park, Jersey City, New Jersey

These stunning views don’t end in the boroughs! This park on the Hudson serves up breathtaking shots of the Empire State Building and the Manhattan skyline. You won’t want to miss it.
