Accompaniment in a World in Crisis: Hope, Refuge, and the JRS Response in the Middle East
Wednesday, April 15, 12 – 1 p.m.

In the Middle East and North Africa—a region of the world plagued by violence for half a century—Dan Corrou, SJ, leads the team at Jesuit Refugee Service, covering Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and Iraq. Learn how his team balances ongoing accompaniment of refugees and other migrant people, providing education, community building, mental health support, and more, with the intermittent need—including in the current moment—to rapidly pivot to crisis response and provide shelter, food, and other basic necessities to the community. Father Dan will also preview the JRS Jordan-American Friends Service Committee short film, A Journey of Hope, showcasing powerful stories of refugees from Sudan, Iraq, Syria, Eritrea, Somalia, and Yemen that provide living testimonies to the perseverance of individuals pursuing a better life in the face of forced displacement.
All are welcome to attend this free webinar, part of A World in Crisis webinar series hosted by the IIHA and JRS.
