Join us for a performance by the Aleppo Ensemble—a New York-based group devoted to preserving the rich heritage of wasla music, song, poetry, and dance from Aleppo—with vocalist Faraj Abyad. There will be introductory remarks by Mohamed Alsiadi, the ensemble’s musical director and a Fordham faculty member, on the history of Aleppian music.

This event is part of the 2019–2020 Middle Eastern and North African Concert and Lecture series organized by the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures with the generous support of the arts and sciences deans, the departments of anthropology and sociology, music, and theology, the programs in comparative literature and Jewish studies, and the Office of Multicultural Affairs.
