GSS Professional Development Workshop: Career Opportunities with Mental Health Providers of Western Queens

This professional development workshop is for bilingual (Spanish/English) social work students interested in clinical work with children, adolescents, or adults in mental health or substance abuse. Fay Radding-Mascioli, M.A., R.N., will discuss full-time, part-time, and fee-for-service psychotherapy opportunities with the Mental Health Providers of Western Queens.
Fay Radding-Mascioli is a community liaison with Mental Health Providers of Western Queens. Fay started her career as a teacher of English as a second language, providing language and job interviewing skills to Mexican migrant workers and newly arrived refugees from Vietnam. Later, after several years in personnel recruitment, she returned to school and transitioned to health care as a nurse working in psychiatry. When she moved to New York, she joined the Mental Health Providers of Western Queens as the director of managed care, leveraging her experience in business and mental health. Prior to her rejoining the Mental Health Providers of Western Queens as a community liaison in 2013, she held positions in nonprofit organizations serving diverse populations including family caregivers, post-9/11 veterans, and the home-bound elderly.
She has two degrees from the University of Michigan: a B.A. in linguistics and a master’s degree from the University of Michigan’s School of Education with a focus on community development. She obtained her nursing degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
