Horizons of Hope Film Series: Metropolis
Monday, April 13, 7 – 9:30 p.m.

Through conversations and screenings of three films from Pope John Paul II’s “Vatican Film List,” the Horizons of Hope film series invites audiences to participate in a rich dialogue about faith, film, and the cultivation of the interior life.
The series is presented by New York’s Sheen Center for Thought and Culture in partnership with Boston College’s Center for Psychological Humanities and Ethics and Fordham University’s Center for Ethics Education. Fordham faculty and staff will discuss two of the screenings, Nosferatu on March 9 and Metropolis on April 13.
Film critic and scholar Shonni Enelow, PhD, professor and chair of the English department, and David Gibson, director of the Center on Religion and Culture, will speak in a talkback following the screening of Metropolis, a silent sci-fi film about a future society ruled by an aristocracy living above ground while workers toil underground. Matthew Clemente, PhD, director of research and curriculum at Boston College’s Center for Psychological Humanities and Ethics, will moderate the discussion.
