‘Futures Not Yet: Jewish Exiles, Black Politics’

In the late 1930s and early 1940s, a small contingent of Jewish German refugees received asylum in the United States to find that the flame of democracy had been a sword to some. As African American publications across the country had not failed to observe, there were parallels between racial segregation practices and the Nuremberg Laws.
