Orthodox Christianity and Islam have a long history of interaction that spans nearly 14 centuries. This webinar will begin a conversation on how to understand the dynamics of this complex relationship. Orthodox Christians and Muslims not only share cultural and historical space, but also common challenges in the present day as they navigate a world created by Western hegemony. Our panel will explore key issues in the Orthodox Christian and Muslim experience of modernity and will shed light on these experiences by putting into productive conversation the insights of contemporary Islamic studies and the insights of the comparative study of Orthodox Christianity and Islam.
