Saidiya Hartman is the author of Wayward Lives, Beautiful Experiments, Lose Your Mother, and Scenes of Subjection. She has been a MacArthur Fellow, Guggenheim Fellow, Cullman Fellow, and Fulbright Scholar. She is a Professor at Columbia University and lives in New York.

Since 2008, The Reid Family Writers of Color Reading Series has brought a procession of some of the most celebrated writers of color to Fordham.
