Student Workload & Engagement: A Planning Workshop for Faculty

Topic: A balanced course ensures that students engage deeply with the material while maintaining a manageable and purposeful workload in alignment with the Carnegie Unit for Education. In this session, we will:

✅ Demonstrate how to use the Workload Estimator to calculate student time on task.
✅ Discuss strategies for structuring coursework in an intensive summer format.
✅ Recommend best practices for communicating time expectations in syllabi and on Blackboard.
