Student Workload & Engagement: A Planning Workshop for Faculty

Topic: A balanced course ensures that students engage deeply with the material while maintaining a manageable and purposeful workload in alignment with the Carnegie Unit for Education. In this session, we will:

Demonstrate how to use the Workload Estimator to calculate student time on task.
Discuss strategies for structuring coursework in an intensive summer format.
Recommend best practices for communicating time expectations in syllabi and on Blackboard.
