DESCRIPTION:With behind the scenes access to the largest litigation involving drinking water in American history\, the award-winning documentary How to Poison A Planet investigates how the use of a product as seemingly harmless as firefighting foam has resulted in the contamination of communities all over the world. \n​In this roundtable conversation featuring clips from the documentary\, filmmaker Katrina McGowan joins litigator Gary Doulgas and environmental advocates to explore the legal fight\, the environmental consequences\, and the creative process — with the help of Mark Ruffalo — that brought it to the screen. \n​This story about one of the most widespread environmental disasters in history spans the globe from the heart of New York City to a small First Nations community in Australia. \nView the trailer here. \nFeaturing: \n​Katrina McGowan\, director/producer of How to Poison a Planet\, via Zoom \n​Gary Douglas\, Douglas & London\, trial counselor in 3M PFAS lawsuit \n​Briana Carbajal\, WE ACT for Environmental Justice \nSharif Mowlabocus\, PhD\, professor and department chair of Communication and Media Studies at Fordham\, will moderate the roundtable discussion with questions from the audience. \n​The event is free but registration is required. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a day of service and fellowship with the Sisters of the RSHM\, at the Marymount Convent in Tarrytown! \nAfter Mass and lunch\, you’ll have the opportunity to volunteer in a variety of activities\, including planting in the Native Garden\, polishing and cleaning statues and benches throughout the grounds\, participating in a paint and sip art project\, or spending time visiting with the Sisters on the beautiful front porch. \nWe’ll wrap up the day with a social hour featuring ice cream and music. \nAdvance registration is required so we can plan accordingly and notify you if any additional tools or supplies are needed. DESCRIPTION:Be part of one of New York City’s most iconic events by volunteering with Fordham Alumni at the TCS New York City Marathon on Sunday\, Nov. 1! \nJoin us at Shift 1\, Mile 22 to support runners\, represent Fordham\, and cheer on Julian Shuttleworth ’24\, who will be running on behalf of Fordham as last year’s marathon raffle winner. \nFor every 20 volunteers who check in with our group\, Fordham earns one guaranteed (non-complimentary) entry into the 2027 TCS New York City Marathon\, which will be raffled off after the event.
