SUMMARY:People Movers
DESCRIPTION:PEOPLE MOVERS is a free\, all-ages afternoon of films\, music\, moving machines\, and a ferry ride\, presented by Flux Factory and co-presented by Fordham University. The program includes moving machines created by Fordham art students; a daxophone and electronics performance by Daniel Fishkin and Femi Shonuga-Fleming; and the premiere of Associate Professor Catalina Jordan Alvarez’s film Teleférico T.1\, alongside short films by Sarah Ema Friedland and Fordham graduate student Tuong Bui. The afternoon concludes with a walk to the Hunters Point South ferry and a ride to 34th Street. Teleférico T.1 is the culmination of work supported by a Queens Art Fund New Work grant and a Fordham–NYU Research Fellow and Intern Program award.
