SUMMARY:Webinar: "The Future of Humanitarian Aid" with Puji Pujiono
DESCRIPTION:Puji Pujiono\, PhD\, will present the key findings from the study\, “Future of Aid 2040: Pathways to Transformation\,” conducted by the Inter-Agency Research and Analysis Network (IARAN) and the Centre for Humanitarian Leadership (CHL). \nImplemented in two phases\, the first phase is an exploratory phase to analyze the changes in the global context and aid system by 2040. The study gathered inputs from a diverse community of participants especially from historically underrepresented regions\, in fact\, among the nearly 900 participants\, nearly 4 in 10 have lived experience of crises\, resulting into a reframing of key debates and moving discussions beyond traditional aid paradigms. The study identifies 16 global drivers (e.g. climate change\, geopolitical shifts\, technological disruption) and nine aid-specific ones (e.g. donor dynamics\, localization\, ethical shifts) that will shape the aid system by 2040. \nBy the end of this webinar\, participants will have gained perspectives on future aid scenarios gathered from a diverse community of participants especially from historically underrepresented regions and those affected by crises. \nAbout Puji Pujiono\nPuji Pujiono\, PhD\, is a leading figure in social work\, disaster management\, humanitarian response\, and civil society movement\, with a leadership role in the social work competency standard development in Indonesia. With more than two decades of managerial and leadership experience within the United Nations system\, he strongly supports the quality and further professionalization of social work\, disaster management\, and social services. He has sustained leadership in regional and global civil society humanitarian movements\, as well as in humanitarian reform and in various leadership positions at the global level.

SUMMARY:Webinar: "Mental Health in a World in Crisis: The Power of Community and Accompaniment"
DESCRIPTION:Conflict\, displacement\, detention\, uncertainty\, and the erosion of basic services can take a profound toll. But effective mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) is not just about clinical care. \nJoin the Institute of International Humanitarian Affairs and Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) MHPSS leaders to explore how localized\, community-based approaches can strengthen resilience\, identify those at greatest risk\, and provide support in complex\, rapidly changing environments. A central principle of JRS’s approach is that mental health support belongs to the community. Families\, peers\, neighbors\, and frontline staff can all help prevent distress from becoming longer-term mental health conditions when they have the knowledge and support they need. \nWhy Attend:\nParticipants will leave with a clearer understanding of how communities can support the psychological needs of people on the move\, reduce stigma\, and strengthen awareness and support for this work. \nSpeakers:\nNoelle Jouan\, regional MHPSS officer\, Middle East and North Africa; Moses Mukasa Protection and MHPSS officer\, Eastern and Southern Africa; Katerina Jelissejeva\, MHPSS office\, European region; and Katie Mullins-Ali\, director of mental health and psychosocial support programmes
