Explore where New York began and see what is left of Dutch New Amsterdam in today’s lower Manhattan. You will hear about New York’s founding myths and facts while standing in the very spots where they all happened. With New York City’s first map in hand\, you will trace the streets of Manhattan in 1667 while discovering the many hidden Dutch relics south of Wall Street. Physically touch history as your spend time finding out how Bowling Green got its name and why it’s been so important in our city’s history. Among the many relics you will experience on this tour are the foundations of New York City’s first City Hall (which was also a tavern)\, the long-forgotten oyster pastry cannon\, the original battery wall\, and so much more! \nThe ticket cost includes both the tour and lunch. \nThe walking tour will be two hours. DESCRIPTION:Join the Asian American and Pacific Islander Alumni at Fordham (AAF) Affinity Chapter as we gather to celebrate 2022 and the Lunar New Year of the Tiger. \nWe will meet in Manhattan’s Chinatown neighborhood to watch “Super Saturday” Lion Dance parades and support local small businesses still recovering from the pandemic. You are welcome to bring small bills placed in red envelopes to give to the Lions\, too. \nMeeting Location\nWe will meet/eat at the Eatery (pay on your own\, bring cash) and then go watch the lion dance parades. Enter Eatery and meet at the opposite end by the big screen. Please wear Fordham-branded clothing if possible so we can identify you. \nWe may also visit some of the local family associations and local businesses unique to Chinatown. \nNote: There will be road closures\, so leave extra time if you are driving. \nPlease RSVP so that you can receive contact info for the gathering. DESCRIPTION:Join the Alumni Chapter of Northern California for Fordham Alumni Night as the Golden State Warriors host the New York Knicks! Seats are located in section 127/Pepsi Club for $230/ticket\, which includes a VIP lane at all arena entrances and a private food and beverage area\, and the first row of sections 214 and 215 for $110/ticket. Tickets include an invitation to attend the Courtside Shoot Around to watch the players warm up from the floor level between 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. \nWe are also planning a pregame meet and greet with Mike Breen\, FCRH ’83\, Knicks lead announcer and NBA Hall of Fame announcer. \nWe have a very limited ticket supply and a limit of six tickets per registration.
