DESCRIPTION:We are partnering once again with Lions Club International to give alumni an opportunity to help local children and their families with their back-to-school shopping. Local Lions Clubs will be providing vouchers that can be used to purchase up to $50 in clothing and school supplies at the Walmart in south Miami-Dade. Volunteers will assist local children and families as they shop and help them use the vouchers at check-out. \nThis is a great opportunity to work with families in financial need and show the Fordham spirit in action. Financial contributions to this effort will be gratefully accepted by the Lions Club but are absolutely not required. After kayaking\, our group will walk down the block to Peter’s Clam Bar (600 Long Beach Road\, Island Park\, New York) for a seafood lunch. \nPlease note: All rentals must be paid in cash to Empire Kayaks the day of the event. The cost of kayak rentals is $20 for a single per hour\, $25 for a performance kayak per hour\, or $30 for a double per hour. Please specify your preference. Kayaking will last approximately one to two hours. \nFood and refreshments can be purchased directly from Peter’s Clam Bar (the cost of lunch depends on how hungry you are!). \nSpace is limited. DESCRIPTION:Join the Fordham Alumni Chapter of Philadelphia and cheer on the Fordham men’s and women’s rowing teams as they cap off their season at the Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia. This is a big\, family-friendly\, picnic-style event in Fairmount Park. The Saturday races being early in the morning and extend into late afternoon for final events. \nDue to limited parking on Kelly Drive\, overflow parking will be available at the Mt. Pleasant parking area in Fairmount Park. There is usually a nominal parking fee. Shuttle buses are free for regatta fans and spectators and run every 15 to 20 minutes. It is a short walk from the shuttle bus drop-off on Fountain Green Drive to Rower’s Village. \nRSVP by May 9\, 2018.

This exhibit explores the 18th century across Europe though the eyes of one of its most colorful characters\, Giacomo Casanova (1725–1798). Gathering together paintings\, sculpture\, works on paper\, furnishings\, and more\, this exhibit will bring the visual wealth of Casanova’s world to life!\nThis event costs $35 per person. Senior tickets are also available at $30 per person. If you are a Fine Arts Museum (FAM) member\, tickets are $10. Your ticket is valid for the entire museum all day. Payment should be made directly to Mark Di Giorgio (markadigiorgio@att.net). After the tour\, you are welcome to join the group for lunch at the café. \nRSVP by May 1\, 2018.
