We will be helping to pull weeds\, reapply compost and mulch\, and prune in the Butterfly Garden\, Nature Nook\, and surrounding areas. \nA tour of the Boston Nature Center’s sustainable features will be provided. They include a living green roof\, photovoltaic arrays\, and the city’s first green building with geothermal climate control\, solar hot water\, and many other features. \nThis is an outdoor project. Please dress for the weather: Wear long sleeves\, long pants\, and sturdy closed-toe shoes. Bring garden gloves and gardening tools if you have them.

All volunteers should meet at the Grays Ferry Crescent Trail segment at the corner of Wharton Street and Schuylkill Avenue. There is free street parking right at the trail entrance\, and there are several bus routes for public transportation options. \nFamilies and friends are welcome! DESCRIPTION:Join us for a Thanksgiving food drive benefiting the Carver Center in Port Chester. Many of our neighbors go hungry during the holiday season. Help us provide food for their tables so all may be nourished with grateful hearts. All nonperishable\, canned\, and baby foods will be accepted (e.g.\, tuna\, peanut butter\, rice\, soup\, oil\, cereal). Monetary donations are also accepted. Checks can be made payable to Campus Ministry and mailed to or dropped off at the Campus Ministry offices at the Westchester\, Rose Hill\, and Lincoln Center campuses. All gifts\, no matter the amount\, are meaningful and greatly appreciated. Donations will benefit the Carver Center\, which supports people when they are the most vulnerable. DESCRIPTION:We are partnering once again with Lions Club International to give alumni an opportunity to help local children and their families with their back-to-school shopping. Local Lions Clubs will be providing vouchers that can be used to purchase up to $50 in clothing and school supplies at the Walmart in south Miami-Dade. Volunteers will assist local children and families as they shop and help them use the vouchers at check-out. \nThis is a great opportunity to work with families in financial need and show the Fordham spirit in action. Financial contributions to this effort will be gratefully accepted by the Lions Club but are absolutely not required.
