SUMMARY:Jewish Life in the Bronx: A Walking Tour of the Woodlawn Cemetery with David Herszenson
DESCRIPTION:One of the many Hebrew terms describing a cemetery is bet mo’ed le-khol ḥai (“the house appointed for all living” from a verse in Job 30:23). In our series of walking tours focusing on Jewish Life in the Bronx\, we are going to explore a slice of American Jewish history preserved in Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx\, which counts among its permanent residents scions of American Jewish life: Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia\, composer Irving Berlin\, the Lehman family\, and many others. \nJoin us on Sunday\, April 19th at 11AM for a guided tour with David Herszenson. \nThe number of attendees is limited to 25. If your place in registration is higher than 25\, you will be automatically be put on the waiting list.
