SUMMARY:Talk on Climate Change Risk Management with Jan Dash\, Ph.D.
DESCRIPTION:Gabelli School of Business welcomes Jan Dash. Ph.D. Dash is editor for the forthcoming World Scientific Encyclopedia of Climate Change: Finance\, Economics and Policy. The second edition of his book has a chapter on climate change risk management\, and Dash is a matchmaker for the Climate Science Rapid Response Team. He is the editor of the Climate Portal\, and did the math behind the Bloomberg Climate Clock. Dash is also lead climate advisor to the NGO Committee on Sustainable Development–NY and wrote the “one-liner” responses to climate contrarian fallacies. He spoke on a panel at the Paris Climate Conference. \nDash has a Ph.D. in physics\, was Directeur de Recherche at the Centre de Physique Théorique in Marseille\, France\, and published over 60 scientific research papers. Subsequently\, he worked for 25 years managing Ph.D. quant groups and performing quantitative finance and risk management at major firms. He was a visiting research scholar at Fordham University and adjunct professor at the Courant Institute\, NYU.
