Check out some of our recent favorites.
Renée Elise Goldsberry
The Tony-winning Hamilton star brought her full band and backing singers to FUV to showcase three cuts from her debut album, Who I Really Am. Mixing soul, funk, blues, and pop with her gospel roots, the album features 11 of her own songs, plus contributions from past stage and screen co-stars Lin-Manuel Miranda and Sara Bareilles
Japanese Breakfast
The indie-pop band fronted by singer and guitarist Michelle Zauner dropped in for an interview and live set of songs from their latest release, For Melancholy Brunettes (& sad women). Zauner’s husband and bandmate Peter Bradley joined her for a rare three-song acoustic set, and she discussed how life has changed after her poignant 2021 memoir, Crying in H Mart, became a New York Times bestseller.
Perfume Genius
Singer-songwriter Michael Alden Hadreas, best known by the stage name Perfume Genius, performed three cuts from his latest album, Glory. Backed by a four-piece—including his partner, Alan Wyffels, on keyboards—Hadreas brought his “heart-forward” vocals to everything from ethereal ballads to up-tempo tunes.
