Lesley A. Massiah-Arthur, ADMINISTRATION, associate vice president of the Office of Government Relations and Urban Affairs and special assistant to the president, has been named to City & State’s Inaugural Who’s Who in Government Relations. The feature highlights a broad community of professionals who are leveraging their know-how and connections with public officials at City Hall, in the state Capitol, and in Congress.
David Budescu, Ph.D., ARTS AND SCIENCES, Anne Anastasi Professor of Psychometrics and Quantitative Psychology, has been awarded the prestigious Frank P. Ramsey Medal of the Decision Analysis Society for 2023. The medal is the society’s highest award, given in recognition of distinguished contributions to the field of decision analysis. Budescu received the honor in recognition of his research on the effects of human decision-making and psychometrics and his contributions in strengthening the nexus of psychology, management sciences, and decision analysis.
Elaine Congress, Ph.D., GSS, professor and associate dean for special programs, presented on the book series Behavioral Science in the Global Arena at the 55th Annual Meeting of Cheiron, which took place at Fordham from June 15 to 18. The conference was organized by the International Society for the History of Behavioral and Social Sciences.
Mary Ann Forgey, Ph.D., GSS, professor of social work, presented “Strengthening Military Social Work Practice through the Development of an International Perspective,” at the 2023 Military Social Work & Behavioral Health conference held at the University of Texas, Austin, from June 12 to 14. She presented with her Australian military social work colleague, Karen Green-Hurdle. Their presentation shed light on the importance of incorporating global insights into military social work.
Lindsay Till Hoyt, Ph.D., ARTS AND SCIENCES, associate professor of psychology, and her students Brandon Dull and Natasha Chaku published the blog post “Fostering social justice – white adolescents’ social justice action requires race conscious environments” on June 29 for the blog Parent & Family. The post was also included in the Juneteenth Virtual Issue of Child Development.
Robert J. Parmach, Ph.D., ADMINISTRATION, director of Ignatian Mission, delivered the talk Our Shared Ignatian Mission with David Suwalsky, S.J., for the Jesuit Advancement Administrators (JAA) cohort of the Association of Jesuit Colleges & Universities (AJCU) on July 11. The event was sponsored by Fordham University, Loyola University New Orleans, and Saint Louis University.
