Fordham University’s Department of Computer and Information Sciences has joined the MSDN Academic Alliance, which will allow faculty and students to download selected software free of charge.
Applications available for download range from the Windows operating system XP Professional and Windows Server 2003, to a range of software used for developing computer and database applications from Visual Studio.net Professional 2003 to Access and Visio Professional 2003.
MSDN stands for Microsoft Developer Network, a unit within the Redmond, Wash.-based technology company responsible for managing relationships with software developers. The MSDN Academic Alliance is an annual membership program for departments that teach and use technology such as computer and information sciences and engineering. The software is available for download or checkout from the Department of Computer and Information Sciences office. Faculty members and students can also get account and login information by going to the department’s MSDN Academic Alliance web page.
