NEW YORK—The Fordham University Center for Ethics Education will present a lecture by Boston University Professor George Annas, J.D., M.P.H., titled “Dying for a Cure: American Bioethics and the Global Research Agenda” on Wednesday, March 9, at 4 p.m. in Duane Library on the Rose Hill campus. Annas is the Edward R. Utley Professor and chair of the Department of Health Law, Bioethics and Human Rights at the Boston University School of Public Health. He is also a professor in both the Boston University School of Medicine and the School of Law, and is the co-founder of Global Lawyers and Physicians.
The discussant will be Jeffrey Blustein, Ph.D., the principal bioethicist in the Weiler Division of Montefiore Medical Center.
This presentation is part of the Center for Ethics Education’s 2005 spring lecture series. The center was created in 1999 to contribute to Fordham’s commitment to cultivating lifelong habits of critical thinking, moral reflection and articulate expression. The center, directed by Celia B.
