Dear Members of the Campus Community:
Here are this week’s five things you need to know about Fordham’s COVID-19 precautions, vaccinations, and University operations.
Please wear a mask in all indoor public spaces at all times. See the COVID-19 Guidelines on the web for detailed information: fordham.edu/fordhamforward:
- On-campus cases: In the last 14 days, 100 members of the University community tested positive for COVID-19, as listed on the University dashboard.
- Like many other institutions, Fordham is seeing a spike in COVID-19 cases, which have nearly doubled in the last week. The University is monitoring the situation closely, and will adjust its policies as necessary to protect the health of the campus community.
- Wear a mask whenever you are indoors, or in crowded outdoor spaces.
- Avoid crowds, especially indoors, and especially unmasked.
- The CDC is projecting an increasing number of cases and deaths nationwide in the next four weeks.
- “[CDC] Officials stress that early data shows that individuals who are fully vaccinated and received a booster shot remain largely protected against severe illness and death from omicron.”
- The University requires all faculty, staff, and students to receive a COVID-19 vaccine booster dose prior to the start of classes for the spring 2022 semester, or as soon as medically permissible: Update to University COVID-19 Vaccination Policy.
- COVID-19 Boosters: The University is making COVID-19 boosters available for all eligible students, faculty, and staff. The vaccine schedule is available on the COVID-19 Testing and Vaccine Resources page.
