Facilities Management will close sections of the Lincoln Center campus for planned electrical repairs from Friday, August 10, through Sunday, August 12.
Electrical power to 140 W. 62nd Street, the Lowenstein Center, and Quinn Library will be turned off between 5 a.m. Friday, August 10, and midnight Sunday, August 12, to perform critical maintenance and testing of the main 480-volt electrical distribution service. The affected buildings will remain closed to all personnel during this time, with the exception of Facilities workers and Public Safety staff.
All electrical devices within these buildings should be turned off by the close of business on Thursday, August 9. Computer work should be saved, computers should be unplugged, refrigerators should be emptied of all contents, and temperature-sensitive devices should be removed from the affected buildings.
Martino Hall will remain on its normal schedule and is not affected by this work. McMahon Hall and the Law School/McKeon Hall will also remain open; however, travel between these two buildings will be via the Plaza level, as the connecting interior corridors will be closed. All Lincoln Center events have been moved to the Law School, except for one event in Pope Auditorium, to be held between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Friday, August 10. Pope Auditorium will have electrical power only for the duration of the event.
Facilities Operations and Public Safety extend their gratitude to all of the Fordham community members who cooperated in moving events to the Law School, allowing for this critical work that will extend the life of the University’s electrical infrastructure.
