From the Office of the Vice President for Administration:
Dear Members of the Fordham Community,
I would like to clarify the process for entering campus during the fall 2020 semester for students, faculty, and staff who are either studying or working on campus, or remotely. If you are coming to campus no more than once or twice during the fall semester, you need not remain on VitalCheck, nor do you need to be tested, as you are considered to be studying or working remotely. However, on those days when you do come to campus, you will be required to go through a screening process, including a temperature check.
If you plan to come to campus more than once or twice during the fall semester you need to be both on VitalCheck daily, and are required to be tested for the COVID-19 virus. VitalCheck and COVID-19 testing are complementary parts of the Fordham Forward strategy, and both must be accomplished prior to returning to campus. If you decline to be tested, we ask that you not come to campus in the interest of community safety.
In order to be tested for free at our campus locations, please register as follows:
Students and employees may obtain a test on their own. If you decide to take the COVID-19 test elsewhere, please note that it may be at your own expense. In addition, the test results may not be dated more than fourteen (14) days prior to your return to campus. Faculty and staff results must be sent to VitalCheck at [email protected]
If you wish to use Fordham’s email encryption service, visit Fordham’s Email Encryption website for instructions.
Faculty and staff coming from abroad or from states on the New York state travel advisory list will be tested at the end of their mandatory 14-day quarantine. The list of restricted states can be found at https://coronavirus.health.ny.
Thank you, in advance, for your cooperation.
Marco Valera
