The University will honor four members of the Fordham family for their outstanding achievements in the service of others and their commitment to the University at its Thirteenth Annual Fordham Founder’s Award Dinner and Campaign Close Celebration, to be held Monday, March 31, 2014 at the Waldorf Astoria in New York.

This year’s Fordham Founder’s Award recipients are:

Thomas A. Moore, Esq., LAW ’72, and Judith Livingston Moore, Esq., parents of Fordham students;
William S. Stavropoulos, Ph.D., PHA ’61, and I. Linda Stavropoulos.

Tom Moore and Judy Livingston Moore, senior partners at Kramer Dillof Livingston & Moore, are relentless champions of justice—both for victims of medical malpractice and, through their advocacy work, for the public at large. They have earned spots on numerous “best lawyers” lists and membership in the Inner Circle of Advocates, an elite group of the top 100 trial attorneys in the country. Tom Moore has secured some of the largest awards in the history of New York state, which has earned him a reputation as the most successful trial attorney in the country. The National Law Journal twice named him Lawyer of the Year. Best Lawyers magazine has twice named Judy Livingston Moore as New York Medical Malpractice Lawyer of the Year, and she was listed by The National Law Journal as one of “40 lawyers who have made their mark in the area of health care law.”

William S. Stavropoulos, Ph.D., and I. Linda Stavropoulos

Bill and Linda Stavropoulos are committed to giving young people and their communities the best possible chance to succeed. When he retired as chairman and CEO of the Dow Chemical Company after 39 years, Bill Stavropoulos established the Michigan Baseball Foundation to spur economic development and youth programs in the state. Linda Stavropoulos, a former schoolteacher, serves as president of the Bill and Linda Stavropoulos Family Foundation, which the couple created to support efforts in healthcare, human services, and higher education.

In addition to honoring the awards recipients, Fordham will celebrate the successful completion of Excelsior | Ever Upward | The Campaign for Fordham, a $500 million capital campaign launched in 2009.

Among the honored guests at this year’s awards will be His Eminence Timothy Cardinal Dolan, Archbishop of New York; His Eminence Edward Cardinal Egan, Archbishop Emeritus of New York; His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios, Primate of the Greek Orthodox Church in America; Mario J.
