NEW YORK—Fordham University will host a New York City benefit screening of Stolen Childhoods, a feature-length documentary by Robin Romano that exposes the global problem of child labor, on Sunday, Dec. 5, at 6:30 p.m. in the McNally Amphitheatre at the Fordham School of Law, 140 W. 62nd St., on the Lincoln Center campus. Admission is $12. All proceeds will benefit child-relief organizations.

The documentary, which is narrated by Academy-award winning actor Meryl Streep, profiles child laborers in seven different countries, and the groundbreaking efforts of relief organizations to provide these children with education to help them break their cycle of poverty. There are 246 million child laborers worldwide. This film puts into context the causes and ramifications of child labor and provides examples of successful programs that move children from work to school.
