Alumni of Fordham University’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS) will return to the Rose Hill campus on March 31 as part of a reunion that features faculty presentations, visits to Bronx attractions and a keynote address by novelist Peter Quinn (GSAS ’75), author of the American Book Award-winningBanished Children of Eve (Viking, 1994).
The reunion, which celebrates 90 years of scholarly achievement on the Rose Hill campus, will include faculty presentations and panel discussions on subjects ranging from religion in a post-modern world to evolution in the 21st century. The daylong event will also include a special performance by the Bronx Arts Ensemble of music interspersed with poetry, tentatively titled “Beauty in the Bronx.”
Quinn, a former speech writer for New York governors Hugh Carey and Mario Cuomo, is a chronicler of Irish America. A third-generation New Yorker whose grandparents were born in Ireland, Quinn will speak on “Writes of Passage: Confessions of a Bronx Irish Scribbler.” For more information see the GSAS Reunion page.
