The Honorable Jerry Brown, 1992 Democratic presidential candidate and mayor of Oakland, Calif., will deliver the third annual Marshall McLuhan Lecture on Thursday, March 1, at 6:30 p.m. in Pope Auditorium, Fordham University, Lincoln Center campus. Brown, a friend and admirer of McLuhan, served as governor of California from 1974 to 1982. The McLuhan Lecture, named after communications visionary and one-time Fordham professor Herbert Marshall McLuhan, is dedicated to furthering the scholarly and humanistic study of the media. This year’s lecture is being sponsored by Fordham’s Department of Communication and Media Studies, the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and the Canadian Consulate of New York.
