Senior Kerstin Greene was selected 2007 Atlantic 10 Women’s Field Performer of the Year at the Indoor Track and Field Championships held in the Mackel Fieldhouse at the University of Rhode Island on Saturday, Feb. 17.
Greene broke three school records and helped the women’s team to a seventh place finish out of 12 teams. Her record-setting day was highlighted by a win in the triple jump, earning First Team All-Atlantic 10 honors with a mark of 40’ 9”. Greene’s mark was also an Atlantic 10 Championship record. She also earned Second Team All-Atlantic 10 honors in the long jump and high jump events. She placed second in the long jump with another school record leap of 18’ 11 3⁄4”, while clearing 5’ 7” in the high jump for runner-up status.
Her final school record came in the 55-meter hurdles, as she placed fourth in a time of 8.32 seconds. Of the three records, Greene already held the long jump and triple jump records, while the hurdles record had been held by Tara DiLuca, set in 2000 with a time of 8.44. Earlier in the day, the Fordham University men’s indoor 4×4800 relay team earned First Team All-Conference honors by winning the event to help the Rams to a fifth place team finish.
