NEW YORK—Fordham University will celebrate the opening of “Loyola, Xavier, Faber,” an exhibition featuring rare books and letters written by and about three founders of the Society of Jesus, with a reception on Tuesday, Jan. 17, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the first-floor exhibition room of the William D. Walsh Family Library on the Rose Hill campus.

Books from the Walsh Library collection written by St. Francis Xavier and St. Ignatius Loyola, founder of the Society of Jesus, and a diary kept by Blessed Peter Faber will be among the items on display.

The exhibit, which will run through the spring semester, is free and open to the public. It is part of a yearlong celebration commemorating the Society of Jesus Jubilee Year, which marks three historic events: the 500th anniversary of the births of St. Francis Xavier and Blessed Peter Faber, and the 450th anniversary of the death of St. Ignatius Loyola.
