William F. Harrington, Esq., Receives Fordham Medal

NEW YORK – Westchester County community leader and Fordham Law School alumnus William F. Harrington ’59 received the Fordham Law Alumni Association’s Medal of Achievement for his remarkable career in the law and sterling record of service to his community. The medal is the association’s highest honor. In bestowing the award, Fordham Law School Dean John D. Feerick said Harrington “clearly defines the very best aspirations of our profession and our school. He is an outstanding lawyer; the head of a great law firm; a devoted husband and father; one of the most respected leaders in his community of Westchester; and a man of strong faith, compassion, and charity. His life clearly embodies those qualities of service, integrity, competence, and caring which our school values so highly.” Harrington is the managing partner of Bleakley Platt & Schmidt, the oldest continuously operated law firm in Westchester. He is also a leader in the Westchester community, volunteering his service to the boards of St. Joseph’s Seminary and College in Yonkers, St. Agnes Hospital in White Plains, the School of the Holy Child in Rye, and the Westchester County Association.
