SUMMARY:The Dreaming of the Bones: A Chamber Opera
DESCRIPTION:Ireland\, 1916. A rebel on the road meets a pair of strangers. They offer him refuge\, but they want something in return… \nThis is the story told by W. B. Yeats’s classic play\, The Dreaming of the Bones\, now transformed to a chamber opera composed by Fordham Distinguished Professor Lawrence Kramer. The renowned new music ensemble Contemporanous will perform the work in a semi-staged production conducted by David Bloom. Lawrence Kramer is a nine-time award-winning composer whose music has been performed throughout the US and Europe. He is also a prolific author\, whose latest book\, Experience: A History\, will be published in October. \nAdmission is free to Fordham students\, faculty\, staff\, and their guests.
