The Fordham men’s basketball program has been behind many firsts. The first televised college basketball game was the 1940 Fordham-Pitt game at Madison Square Garden. The first use of the three-point field goal came five years later when the Rams hosted Columbia and a three-point shot (then called a “long goal”) was used experimentally.
