Fordham’s public radio station WFUV (90.7 FM, wfuv.org) has launched a podcast of its popular Fordham Conversations, a weekly half-hour program that highlights the University’s activities inside and outside of the academic world, including the work of Fordham professors, students and alumni, and addresses a range of subjects from healthcare for women prisoners to the enduring popularity of the hit television show The Simpsons.
Hosted by producer Nora Flaherty, Fordham Conversations is available for podcast at iTunes at the same time it airs, at 8 a.m. on Saturdays. Recent programs featured a discussion on British self-identity and the Booker Prize (Feb. 10), and digital media and the commercialization of music (Feb. 17).
Time magazine voted Take Five, WFUV’s daily music show hosted by Rita Houston, one of the 10 best podcasts of 2006. Other WFUV podcasts include Music Reviews with writer Alan Light, Movie Reviews with critic Harlan Jacobson and Cityscape,an inside look at the people, places and spirit of New York City with host George Bodarky (FCRH ’93).
