Languages and Cultures 2026 Inaugural Lecture

Dongxian Jiang, PhD, assistant professor of Chinese studies, will present his book, Why China Needs Democracy (Princeton, 2026), in conversation with Nicholas Tampio, PhD, professor of political science. In his new book, Professor Jiang makes a powerful case in favor of promoting constitutional democracy in the Chinese context. This event is co-sponsored by the Department of Political Science.
