Webinar: Key findings of CHH-Lancet Commission on Health, Conflict and Displacement

Chi-Chi Undie, a senior associate and technical director within the Population Council’s International Programs Division and the Regional Representative of the organization’s office in Kenya, will present key findings and conclusions of the CHH-Lancet Commission on Health, Conflict and Displacement’s recent report.

The CHH-Lancet Commission on Health, Conflict, and Forced Displacement is a collaboration between the Johns Hopkins Center for Humanitarian Health and The Lancet, launched in early 2024. Its primary goal is to tackle the rising mortality and health challenges associated with conflict and forced displacement worldwide, while proposing systemic reforms to the humanitarian system to make it more effective, accountable, and inclusive. The Commission recently published a landmark report calling for an urgent transformation of the global humanitarian system. The report rethinks and reimagines the strategies, governance, and delivery modes of humanitarian aid by proposing systemic changes and bold recommendations that influence global humanitarian and health agendas, and encourage collective action. The Commission strives to challenge existing power structures in humanitarian health and beyond, and to amplify the voices of underrepresented populations in decision-making processes.

Guests will engage with and learn how to radically rethink policy, funding, and practical approaches to our response to conflict, forced displacement, and, more broadly, humanitarian crises.
