The start of Fordham’s academic year began Sunday as students from across the country arrived at the University’s residential halls for Opening Day 2025, with commuter students joining them for a fun schedule of orientation activities. The day was filled with excitement, heartfelt goodbyes, and plenty of helping hands as students moved into their new dorm rooms and made the transition to college life.
Families pulled up to campus in cars brimming with essentials as well as sentimental items to help students feel at home. They were welcomed by Fordham’s spirited orientation leaders, who brought both energy and muscle to the occasion, greeting their fellow Rams and helping them roll large bins full of belongings into their new spaces.
After sunset, students gathered on Edwards Parade for a candlelight ceremony, a tradition that marks the beginning of the year and new students’ Fordham journey.
